So far, my doctors do not think my symptoms are from my heart because 2 EKGs, chest x-ray, and blood tests have come back normal.

I am just wondering if my doctor tells me after all these tests that he thinks the pains come from anxiety and not from my heart if I will be allowed to exercise like running, swimming, biking etc. Because I feel that may be the best way to relieve my stress. Any answers will be helpful.

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – A man who hit and killed a bicyclist last summer then fled the scene learned Tuesday that he can walk out of jail in less than four months.

A Bernalillo County District Court judge sentenced Daniel Rubio Gomez to 18 months in jail and 18 months supervised probation for fatally striking Heather Reu while she was on her bicycle last June.

Rubio Gomez has been in jail since that fatal accident.

On Tuesday he apologized to Reu’s family through an interpreter.

“I ask the family to forgive me, and I also feel very bad,” Rubio Gomez said.

But the apology from Rubio Gomez will never take away the pain that Reu’s husband, Phillip Reu, described to the judge.

“I miss my wife everyday,” said Phillip. “It has been painful to slowly forget what it feels like to love and be loved.”

The greatest pain he said he feels is for his four children.

“She (Reu) was a stay-at-home mom who spent her life figuring out how to make their lives better,” said Phillip through tears.

A collage of pictures showed happier times in the Reu family.

Reu was riding her bike along Paseo del Volcan on June 22nd, obeying all traffic laws, when Rubio Gomez struck her with his truck and ran from the scene.

He never stopped for help.

Rubio Gomez, who is an illegal immigrant, was confronted by witnesses. Police said they found drugs on him, but that he had not been drinking alcohol.

“In a split second you broke our hearts and changed our lives forever when you chose to drive without a license carelessly and recklessly,” said Reu’s father Ray Cramer.

He asked Rubio Gomez to think about what the accident has caused a lifetime of grief.

Before he was sentenced, Rubio Gomez asked the Reu family to forgive him.

“We had a great family put together, a community we enjoyed being involved with and a loving marriage,” Phillip said.

I went mountain biking on Thursday and fell off my bike and landed on my wrist. Now I went to the doctors to see whats wrong with it the next day. She said it looked broken or fractured. Went for an x-ray and they said nothing. It is now Monday. I still have pain, now my thumb is numb, I can’t grasp anything with my hand. Is it fractured and they missed it on the x-ray? Should I go back and make another appointment?

I am 16 years old and played soccer this year for my high school. At the beginning of the season, I developed a minor pain in my right knee, on the inside and in the middle. It was only enough to be somewhat bothering to me, and after warming up for about 15 minutes,the pain would disappear. I began noticing pain 4 months ago, and about 3 months ago, the pain was too bad that it wouldn’t go away after warming up, and was too painful to run on. I haven’t run on it since, been icing it, doing physical therapy exercises, and also riding a stationary bike(on lowest gear) almost every day. I have seen 3 doctors, two of which told me something that the specialist ruled out. I have been wearing superfeet in my shoes, and that cut the pain down to start, but after about a month of that, it hasn’t become any better. It isn’t as bad as it was before, although it is still painful enough to keep me from running.

I have barely any clue what it could be, because my doctors keep contradicting each other, and I would really enjoy being able to run again.

I am going to see the specialist again soon. Should I request a MRI or X-ray? They seem to be against it for some reason…
My actual doctor and physical therapist said that it might have been a small miniscus tear, but they said it didn’t make complete sense, so they referred me to a specialist, who immediately ruled out a tear. He said that I had a problem with my joint alignment(hips, knees, and feet) and that they couldn’t really fix the knee or hip, so all they could really do was fix my feet. Sine they were really flat, they gave me insoles to arch it more. I’m just worried that since it doesn’t get better, if there is something else that it could be, some other way to fix it, or if I will have the pain the rest of my life.
