Ebikes are apparently considered Mopeds in NJ.
Lots of restrictions; age, licenses, registration etc.
You may get away with it if you are stealth, and some do. but your state is still in the dark ages as far as low power motor assist on bicycles.

Dude, is the Stingray an original from the 70′s? If it is don’t change a thing. It is worth a ton the way it is, adding a motor would destroy the value.
yeap, do not do it. sell the bike on ebay and get a scooter. cops in nj are awful, so you will get in trouble
